A faculty committee determines GTA assignments, and they have already decided who will be a Recitation GTA and who will be a Traditional Lab GTA this semester. After this point, whether a grad student ends up TA’ing 2211 or 2212 is determined by Murray, depending on various factors such as student enrollment and how many undergrad TAs (UTAs) are also available.
As mentioned earlier, these are the websites for 2211 and 2212 Traditional:
You can go to the website for the course you’re TA’ing (2211 or 2212) to find all sorts of important information that you need to be aware of — for example, the course policies and schedule for each class, as well as the locations for the labs and recitations.
The detailed policies for recitations are the same for both 2211 and 2212 and can be found in this page:
The detailed policies for the trad labs are the same for both 2211 and 2212 and can be found in this page:
Please note that the links may change from semester to semester. Always check for the recitation and lab links that appear in the main lecture websites.
The course textbook is Physics for Scientists and Engineers: A Strategic Approach (4th Edition) by Randall D. Knight. Chapters 1-13 are the material for 2211, and chapters 25-34 are the material for 2212. If you want to have access to the textbook, you can request a copy from Jarrio and/or Murray.
